1.
Amnesia 01:42
Misery sung for memory loss. Love demands dragging the line. I see it passing through A decade of flesh feeling spent. "All of this exists through me."
2.
Wound up a human condition. Wound up pulling at loose threads. "I let some terrible god come in, I let some terrible god come in" Someone's always at the table. Wash me out with a flood, lay your head on my grave. Dropping plates in a room. We are still pomegranates, split for seeds.
3.
Roman Candle 02:28
There's nothing behind the wall, but sweat in an anxious sleep. I'm here to rest with the dogs. I want to dance a new death. I still can't decide. Above and below, I still can't decide. Human nature, A disappointment. I've read through all the books, the snake piles and the swarms, the rat kings and the folds. An anxious palm for you.
4.
Tension 03:39
Strikes a nerve, and drags along You felt the pain on the tip of your tongue. And nothing here will fill your voids You felt the pain on the tip of your tongue. Stuck on the map & bridging the cut. You felt the pain on the tip of your tongue. And all your friends are on the streets Hanging out with other friends you'll never meet. Come take it off For everyone that you know and push back to floor You ebb with these rhythms of death The tension is pushing. With your back against a wall, you've found it all.
5.
Poison Drum 03:13
I feel nothing, with wounds still bleeding. Your poison drum is always beating.
6.
On a Rung 02:07
A word about the word "without" Stuck in the back of the room Little spirit, little witness Still some hope slowly dripping Familiar hex/15 steps to hell A cubist on a rung Red, Solar, Red Solar, & days & nights and red solar. Heavy hangs on our heads. Familiar hex/15 steps to hell A realist on a rung
7.
There is no sun outside The ghosts are coming back Spoke to you through a hole in the wall So they said "Gonna set my soul on fire"
8.
Moral Trip 01:56
Better to be here with no sheets to burn You bury yourself with the weight of the world Pressure forever, Society's shit You're looking for something and I hope you find it. Can you fucking face it?
9.
Spectator 01:57
The future! The future! I don't want the future. I don't want this generation to spread the fucking cancer. Well wishing thoughts won't mean a thing. Setting the tone with the shortest of ropes. Crashing, swinging. Crashing, swinging. I want to be untethered because you're untethered and they are untethered. Crashing, swinging.
10.
"This is where you can stop" Let them know what it meant. Single out all bad days. Recollect on the floor, let your blood go to waste. Let your thoughts go to waste. Let your blood go to waste. Sick people. Volcano. The things you saw. The things you felt. The things you were. Sick people. The things you wrong. The things you need. The things you use. Sick people. The things you know. The things you read. The things you lost. Sick people. The things you want. The things you leave. The things you love. Sick people.

about

"Crawling out of the darkness in early 2016, Houston's Lace grabbed several lifetimes of depression, displacement, and outsider feelings, and stuffed them into one-minute blasts of brutal, lo-fidelity hardcore. Months after forming, their six song demo "My Mask Is Off" caught the attention of press and punks worldwide with its unrelenting power and unhinged non-production. The recordings were bleak, desperate and dripping with an almost starving urgency and that dark energy carried over into the band's gratingly loud live shows. Still very much outside any scene or subculture, even in their own town, the band played rarely, toured minimally, and opened for like-minded acts like Total Abuse, Dropdead, Protomartyr, and Elysia Crampton when they rolled through Texas.

When the time came to record their first full-length album, Lace took an abrupt, defiant turn from the grainy hardcore of their demo, expanding both in terms of creative reach and production quality. On the 10 songs that make up "Human Condition", Lace is still dealing in themes of antisocial lonerdom and crushing anxiety, and still blanketing their songs in swarms of feedback, speed and volume. Instead of sticking to any pre-explored style, however, the band meshes desolate hardcore angst with restless post-punk experimentalism and an unplaceable undercurrent of thoughtfulness that almost leaves an impression of a hope somewhere deep beneath the din. Everything is recorded in full definition, adding depth to pissed-off ragers like "Amnesia" or "Moral Trip" and peeling back layers of sound when the band does a 180 into eerie slow-burners like "Tension" or "Mapplethorpe (The Leper Song)". Channeling the cryptic wandering of Swans or This Heat as much as they do the anger of Detestation, Lace offers an uncompromising and unapologetically challenging set of emotional hurdles to jump as the record quickly shifts moods."
